Really? You've NEVER seen Bambi?

Can you believe that? My husband has never seen Bambi before.

I was in the kitchen when Xavier asked Sylvain to watch Bambi, and when he said yes I was surprised but not really. I mean, this is the same guy that let our son watch Star Wars before he was three. I sort of thought, wow, he's going to actually explain what happened to Bambi's mom and stuff? Huh, okay if he wants to.

So I went to my weight watchers meeting and got back just as the movie had ended. I put Xavier to bed, came down and at supper and then started to watch TV wth Sylvain. He pauses it to tell me about their evening. Telling me that Xavier kept asking questions, what's going to happen? What about now? What's happening now?

He finally told him, I don't know! I've never seen this movie before.

This is when I sort of looked at him funny... wait... you mean you've NEVER seen it before??

No, well, I mean I've seen the part where he slips on the ice, because they do that little bit at Christmas time. But that's it.

Oh, okay, well, what did you do when Bambi's mom was shot? He told me that Xavier sort of pouted and looked very sad at him and said, Papa, I'm sad. And papa said, I know, it's very sad. Xavier told him, Well, if I was there I would Karate chop those guys!

My son, he's awesome.

This is when Sylvain asks me if Bambi gets shot. I was a little confused, but he said that it's the part where there's the fire, Bambi jumps over the log, falls tumbles, etc. And then the big buck comes by and yells at him to get up. Oh, incidentally, he thought Bambi was a girl, but apparently not.

What do you mean you thought Bambi was a girl?

Well, there're a lot of strippers... I mean... women out there called Bambi. It's not like you ever hear of guys being called Bambi.

Oh my god. Are you serious? I started laughing pretty hard. Yup, that made my night.

My husband, the Disney 'virgin'... hehehe... I called my husband a virgin... evil... it'smy middle name, oh yea...

Washing My Hair in the Sink

We woke up late this morning. Jerome and Xavier decided to sleep in and Sylvain didn't set his alarm. I woke up and looked around, it was bright in our room. Oh no. That means the sun is coming up. Day 9: I Haven't Killed Anyone Yet

I'm on day nine of this liquid pre-op diet, and like the title says, everyone is alive and well... or at the very least, they're alive. After nine days I've discovered a few things about myself. Not all of it is flattering. 1) I like food. I don't love it. I don't need it. However, I do enjoy it. I miss the tastes, textures and flavours that food offers. For some strange reason, lettuce is on top of that list. 2) Emotional eating is not limited to anger and sadness. In the nine days I've been on Ensure and clear fluids I still need to parent. I'm a mom and need to make sure my kids stay in line. When I get frustrated with them or am upset at them or if I'm relieved or happy or any other emotion you can think of that involves my children, I eat.
